BIO
Born in 1986, MIKA ELA is a contemporary artist with a background in architecture. Her work explores colour, form and the way simple lines can shape our perception of space.
Influenced by her architectural background, she approaches each painting as a composition of shapes, proportions and colour. Using repeated vertical strokes of varying thickness, she builds abstract forms that shift between structure and spontaneity.
The lines are deliberately repetitive but never identical. Small variations, interruptions and imperfections give each composition its own rhythm and character.
Bold colours meet softer tones, while geometric shapes emerge through the arrangement of individual strokes.
Her paintings reflect an interest in the balance between precision and freedom. From a distance, the compositions appear as blocks of colour and defined shapes. Up close, the individual lines, textures and subtle irregularities become visible.
